The Italian Grand Prix returns to the Monza National Autodrome from 4 to 6 September 2026. A practical guide to planning the weekend, reaching the circuit from Milan and experiencing one of Formula 1’s most eagerly awaited races.
The Monza National Autodrome, the Temple of Speed
Some events belong to a city even when they take place just beyond its boundaries. The 2026 Monza Grand Prix is one of them: for three days, Milan and Monza share the same rhythm as motor-racing fans arrive from around the world and Formula 1 cars return to the circuit known as the Temple of Speed.
The 2026 Italian Grand Prix takes place from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 September at the Monza National Autodrome. Staying in Milan makes it possible to travel to Monza by train while still enjoying the city in the evening.

How to get to the Monza Grand Prix from Milan
Traffic around the circuit is heavy during Grand Prix weekend and access routes may be regulated. For visitors travelling from Milan, taking a train to Monza station is generally the simplest option. From the station, continue towards the circuit using local transport or any special event services.
Special trains, shuttle buses and the 2026 access plan are normally announced closer to race weekend. Before leaving, check updates from Trenord, the Monza circuit and local transport operators.
By train
Rail services to Monza depart from Milan’s main stations. On race days, leave early, buy your ticket in advance and allow extra time for security checks and the journey to your assigned entrance.
By car
If travelling by car, book the official parking option in advance and follow the route associated with your pass. Entering “Autodromo” into a navigation app is not enough: gates and parking areas can be located on different sides of the extensive Monza Park.

How to plan your day at the circuit
The Grand Prix experience is much more than the race start. Between gate opening, track sessions and walking through the park, it can be a long day. A few practical steps make it easier:
- check the gate shown on your ticket before leaving;
- wear comfortable shoes, as distances inside the park are considerable;
- bring sun protection and a lightweight rain jacket;
- check the official rules on permitted items and bag sizes;
- save tickets and travel details on your phone, preferably for offline access;
- allow plenty of time for the return journey to Milan.
